Official website of KU-Physics deptt launched
KARACHI, Feb 26: Noman Sehgal, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on IT, at the launch of
website of Physics department, University of Karachi, said the government has
prepared a comprehensive computer literacy programme and all the internet cafes
that were projecting negative impression, particularly on students, would be
sealed.
He expressed these views in a press release issued on Sunday. He
also asked the retired professors of the varsity to work with their IT Board as
their participation meant a lot to the board. He said the things were done on
the basis of merit in the board and the launch of the aforementioned website was
the result of their extreme efforts.
Speaking at the occasion, Pro VC of
the university Prof Dr Akhlaq Ahmed said that they wanted to improve the quality
of education and research by means of computer and IT.
The Quality
Enhancement Cell, University of Karachi, in collaboration with the office of
Registrar is organising the second course for the non-teaching employees of the
university on office management, procedures, drafting, computer operation and
equipment handling' from today (Feb 26) to March 3.
The inauguration of
the course is scheduled at 2:00pm at the Council Room, faculty of
Arts.
Javed Danish, a scholar and dramatist from Canada, apprised the
audience about his play 'Hijrat Ke Tamashe' at the Urdu department. Earlier the
chairperson of the department discussed the history of drama in the
subcontinent.
