Outstanding academics, researchers to be rewarded: HEC
ISLAMABAD, Feb 28(The News): The government will soon initiate a programme to reward the best
achievers in research on annual basis in various fields of science and
humanities.
It is for the first time in the country's history that
academics and researchers will be rewarded for their work accomplished, Higher
Education Commission (HEC) announced here on Tuesday.
The award
categories include: Best Research Paper, Best Young Research Scholar, Best
Innovator, Best Book Publication and Lifetime Achievement Award.
The
eligibility criteria for Best Research Paper includes that the nominee be the
lead author of the paper while the research work must be initiated in Pakistan
while in the case of collaborative research, at least 80 per cent of the work
must be from the Pakistani author.
For the Best Book Publication, the
book must be authored by the nominee and published by a reputable publication
house.
