Ashura holidays
Islamabad, Jan 16, 2008: The government has declared public holidays for the 9th
and 10th of Muharram, falling on January 19 and 20, respectively.
"In
pursuance of the announcement of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee, it is notified for
public information that January 19 (Saturday) and January 20 (Sunday), 2008,
being 9th and 10th Muharram, will be holidays for the occasion of Ashura," says
a press release issued by the Interior Ministry. online
