STBB fails to publish some Class X books
KARACHI, Jan 06, 2008: The Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) has failed to publish
physics and mathematics books for class X while there has been a dearth of
several other textbooks in markets for weeks. Students are appalled by the
non-availability of essential books as they are in a crucial stage of their
academic career.
Most of these students have to use photocopies of the
books but this option is obviously not affordable to thousands of others coming
from low-income group.
The textbook publishing process is likely to face
more problems now when the Sindh government has decided to retain the old
academic session.

Syed Ali Haider has expressed his astonishment over the STBB's claim that
textbooks had been published timely despite the government's decision to revert
to the old system. Describing the claim as absurd, he called for action against
all those who were playing with future of hundreds of thousands of
