HEC offers monthly stipends to unemployed graduates
Islamabad, Jan 15, 2008: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications from
Pakistani citizens for award of subsistence allowance to unemployed
graduates.
Under the scheme
"Supports to Scientific Talent" a stipend worth 10,000 rupees will be given to
the selected graduates on monthly basis.
All the M.Sc. or
graduates having 16 years of education in 1st division or equivalent
grade in the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Biological
Sciences, Earth Sciences, Engineering , Electronics, Veterinary Sciences and
Agriculture are eligible for this allowance.
The HEC has advised
the applicants to submit a certificate from the university or college to the
effect that the candidate will be given teaching assignment if selected under
the scheme.
The selected
candidates will be paid subsistence allowance for a maximum period of one year
by the HEC upon submission of regular progress report from heads of the
institutions.
HEC launches pilot project to implement CMS in six varsities
Islamabad: A pilot project has been launched to implement Campus Management Solution
(CMS) in six geographically and subject wise diversified public sector
universities, an official of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) said.
"The universities selected for the pilot
project included Quaid-i-Azam University (Islamabad), the Punjab University
(Lahore), University of Engineering and Technology (Peshawar), Balochistan
University (Quetta), DOW University of Health Sciences (Karachi) and Islamia
University (Bahawalpur)," he said.
The official said a
Commission has been set up on the directives of HEC Chairman Dr. Attaur Rehman
that has a vision to facilitate universities with the information management
system that drives out institutions to pursue new avenues of growth," he
said.
The CMS is an
integrated solution, which efficiently deals with the various activities of an
educational system such as faculty and student management and administrative
functions.
Tender to procure
campus solution was floated in 2006 and the International Implemented Solutions
Contract Agreement was signed with M/s Techlogix in 2007, he said.
The modules of the
project included student admission, curriculum management, course enquiries,
class time tabling, academic advertisement, faculty and student record system,
student financials, campus self-service and alumni, he added.
The official said
the project would help provide a comprehensive solution that allows to manage
the campus related information and reduce time for the processing and completion
of the task.
The project, he
said, would also help our universities streamline their processes and enhance
administrative efficiency besides offering software technology and applications
that helped world class educational institutions meet and adapt to the
challenging demands of all their constituents-students, teachers, parents and

"Sir i m sellected award of subsistence allowance to unemployed 1st class graduates Under the scheme "Supports to Scientific Talent" and placed at Sindh Agriculture Unversity Tando Jam and I immediately contacted with the registrar Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam and submitted my joining report for my posting in SAU. But the university authorities kept beating about the bush and finally after 05 days I was told by the the university authorities can not give me the appointment under aforesaid scheme and different undue reasons are being told for such refusal, while i have fully met with requirements declared by HEC in above said scheme. Also no such official letter is being issued to me declaring our nomination as rejected. Sir all graduates that are sellected and Placed in Sindh agriculture University Tando Jam are facing same problem, So please help us."
