IELTS results to be posted online
Karachi, Jan 24, 2008: The British Council has started posting the IELTS results
online in addition to sending a paper copy of the results by
mail.
"Previously the IELTS results were sent by post and it took about
28 to 30 days for them to reach the candidates. Now we have made these results
available online," said a representative from the British Council, Hira.
However, the online results are only available for some select British
Council managed test centers. Candidates can view their results exactly 13 days
after sitting for the exam. Results which have been posted for over than 28 days
will, however, be removed from the online database. "If a candidate has not
viewed his or her result within 28 days of the result being posted online than
they will have already been informed by post," said Hira.
The British
Council has also informed candidates that the online result is provisional and
should not be used as an official confirmation. "This facility is on trial right
now. The British Council will not accept any responsibility in the event that
your result fails to display, whether due to a technical fault or administrative
procedure." The candidates need to submit minimal information to access their
online results: The candidate number, passport or ID card number, date of birth
and the examination date.
The results for the January 1 session exams,
held on January 12, are now available online and the results for the January 19
exam will be available on January 30. Till June 2008, a total number of 16 IELTS
exams will be conducted in Karachi out of which four will be for academic
purposes only. The dates for the academic IELTS exams are 2 and 23 February, 13
March and 5 June. In addition to these, the IELTS exam will also be held on
February 16, March 8 and 29, April 12 and 19, May 10 and 22 and June 14 and 28. Daily Times

"I gave my IELTS test on June 27, 2009. Especially the speaking section, i was rated 7.0 when i think i should have been rated 8.0. In order to evaluate any candiate especially in his/her speaking ability the judge(s)should be foreigners and not any local person as i believe the foreigner(s)would be able to assess more accurately, English being their native language "
