KU, BMU & DUHS exams schedule

KU exams schedule
University of Karachi (KU), examination department on Wednesday
has announced a new schedule of examinations, which were postponed earlier due
to uncertainty created by the recent violence in the city.
According to
the KU announcement, papers of the First Professional BDS annual examination
will now be held on January 12, while Islamiat/Pakistan Studies on January 15.
It is further notified that the 'Nose & Pharynx' paper of DIO Part II annual
examination 2007, which was postponed due to Haj holidays will now be held on
January 15. In another notification it is clarified that the admission to first
year and second year BA, BSc (Pass) B.Com, classes for the year 2008 in the
affiliated colleges will start from January 11.
PPI adds: The Organising
Committee of the 11th International Symposium on Natural Product Chemistry
(ISNPC) has extended the date of the symposium due to the approaching
elections-2008.
The symposium will now be held from March 7 to March10,
2008; earlier, the symposium was scheduled from January 3 to January 6, 2008,
said a release by International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences
(ICCBS), KU on Tuesday.
The general secretary of the organising committee
and acting director of the ICCBS, Prof. Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary said that
this decision was taken because of the approaching elections. He said, "Over 600
eminent scientists and researchers from 45 countries are expected to participate
in this symposium. The aim of the symposium is to bring together leading experts
in the field of natural products sciences from all around the world and forge
global partnerships for sustainable utilisation of natural resources for the
common benefit of humanity and rapid development of the countries in the south."
Baqai Medical University (BMU): Baqai Medical University (BMU) on Wednesday announced a new
schedule for BDS final professional annual examinations 2007
(theory).
According to a BMU release, the papers of Operative Dentistry
and Prosthodontics, earlier scheduled for December 29 and December 31, 2007,
would now be held on January 5 and January 7, 2008 respectively. The examination
will start at 11.00 a.m.
Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS): DUHS will be starting a 15-day computer course especially designed for teachers,
doctors and non-teaching staff from February 1, 2008. Interested candidates can
approach to the Computer Learning Centre, DUHS, Baba-e-Urdu Road before January
20.
Meanwhile, the controller of examination, DUHS, Rashid Ali has
announced that the candidates of first professional MBBS part A for bi-annual
examination 2008 can submit their examination forms with the prescribed
examination fee of Rs2,500. It was further said that the candidates of diploma
in cardiology can also submit their examination forms for the bi-annual
examination 2006. The News
