PU exam, results, fake degree..

PU BFA exam schedule
The Punjab University
has issued the schedule for submission of admission forms for Bachelor of Fine
Art (BFA) (Painting and Graphic Design), 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year, 1st
Annual Examination, 2006. The last date for submission of admission forms is Jan
17 and 22, 2008, respectively. The exam will start on Jan 26.
PhD awarded
The Punjab
University has awarded a PhD degree to Shagufta Andleeb, the daughter of Malik
Muhammad Ashiq, in Zoology after approval of her thesis 'Detoxification of
Malathion by Bacterial Consortium.' Her supervisor was Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi
of PU Department of Zoology.
PU announces two results
The Punjab
University has announced the results of two examinations. The examinations are
Master of Education Research and Assessment (MERA), Annual, Session 2005-2007,
and Master of English Language Teaching and Linguistics, Self-Supporting Annual

PU selection board meets
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran
on Tuesday chaired his maiden three-day selection board meeting and interviewed
candidates for the posts of professors and associate professors.
The
board will continue interviews for various posts on Wednesday and
Thursday.
SC directs PU to file report on fake degree
Islamabad: The Supreme Court Tuesday directed University of Punjab to
submit complete report regarding the graduation degree of an election candidate
and adjourned the hearing till January 22.
A three-member bench of the
Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar while hearing an appeal
of Mian Intesar Hussain Bhatti, a candidate for the upcoming general election
directed University of Punjab to file concise statement regarding the graduation
degree of the candidate.
Mian Intesar Hussain Bhatti had filed his
nomination papers for contesting the upcoming general election from PP-107
Punjab as independent candidate. However, the election tribunal Punjab had
declared his graduation degree as forge.
Later on, Mian Intesar Hussain
Bhatti filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision of Election
Tribunal.
On Tuesday, the court directed University of Punjab to provide
details regarding the graduation degree of Mian Intesar Hussain Bhatti and file
a concise statement in this regard. The court also directed the applicant to
appear before the court in-person and adjourned the hearing till January 22. The News
