PEC recommends accreditation for IoBM
Karachi, Jan 10, 2008: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has recommended
accreditation of the newly launched Bachelors of Engineering (BE) degree course
in Industrial engineering and Management by the Institute of Business Management
(IoBM), Korangi Creek.
A spokesman for the IoBM said on Wednesday that a
team of PEC recently visited the IoBM premises regarding accreditation of its
freshly launched BE course. The PEC accreditation team visited the
administration block, laboratories, classrooms, library and examination hall,
and the concerned department of the institute. The team observed that the
curriculum followed by the IoBM is acceptable and comparable to leading national
and international universities, said the spokesman.
The PEC while giving
recommendations about the IoBM's engineering programme also proposed pertinent
measures for its further development. The programme, which blends managerial and
industrial contents is expected to cater to potential needs of the Pakistan's
growing industrial and vibrant corporate sector, he said. The News
