SSUET orientation, FUUAST, KU news briefs
Karachi, Jan 12, 2008: The Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) has
arranged for the orientation ceremony of students, admitted to the BS degree
courses for the academic year 2008, on January 14, at 9.00 a.m.
According
to a notification issued by the registrar, Shah Mahmood Syed, the newly admitted
students will be received by ushers to attend the ceremony.
The programme
includes introductory speeches by the deans and chairmen, followed by a
discussion by engineer Mohammed Zakir Ali Khan on Aligarh traditions. Students
have been asked to turn up at the campus in the prescribed uniform with the
university identity cards.
FUUAST: The Federal Urdu University of Arts,
Science and Technology (FUUAST) has completed the registration of private
candidates for BA, BCom. and MA.
This was announced by the registrar of
the institution in a statement here on Friday. He said that the last date
for the private registration expired on January 10 and that no new form is now
being entertained. APP
KU BS physiotherapy results: The University of Karachi on Friday announced
the results of third year BS physiotherapy (new course) annual examination 2007.
According to the results, a total of 73 candidates appearing in the examination
passed. The News
KU MSc Home Economics results The University of Karachi on Friday
announced the results of MSc Home Economics (previous) annual examination
2007.
A total of 97 candidates appeared in the examination and 87 of them
were declared successful.
KU Faculty of Pharmacy The
foundation-stone laying ceremony for the new building of KU's Faculty of
Pharmacy will be performed on the campus on Saturday.
This was announced
by a KU spokesman in a statement issued on Friday. Vice-Chancellor Prof
Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside over the ceremony.
He will also
lay the foundation stone of the new building for classrooms of Science and Arts
faculties for the KU evening programme.
BCS degree programme in government colleges The process of admissions to a three-year
BCS degree programme has commenced at six government colleges in the metropolis,
according to an announcement made on Friday.
The six colleges are:
Government D.J. Science College, Government Commerce College, Government College
Stadium Road, Government National College, Sir Syed Government College for Women
and Government Khursheed Girls College.
The last date for the submission
of admission forms is Jan 14.
