CSS application forms in Balochistan

Candidates fail to submit CSS forms due to miscommunication
Quetta, Jan 03: Several candidates from Balochistan failed to submit their application forms for Central Superior Services (CSS) examination due to lack of coordination between the Federal Public Service Commission's (FPSC) provincial office and the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

Students said the FPSC had declared January 1 as the last date for submitting forms for the exams, without keeping in view that the day was a bank holiday.

"The FPSC had requested the NBP branches in other provinces to accept fees of the CSS candidates. Though banks accepted fees in Punjab, NWFP and Sindh, NBP refused to follow suit in Balochistan. Thus, a number of candidates could not submit their forms," Nasratullah, a student, said.

He said many candidates had to wait for the fist day of the month to receive salaries for depositing the fees.

"Now we feel cheated due to lack of coordination between the bank and the commission. I appeal to the federal government to look into the matter so that the students do not have to waste a year for taking the exams," the student said.

Officials of NBP and FPSC Balochistan were not available for comment. Daily Times

Close co-education schools: Taliban
Dera Ismail Khan: The Taliban in North Waziristan warned on Friday that all co-education schools in the region must be closed by January 5, or they "will be responsible for their actions". Clerics read out the warning at mosques during Friday prayers in Miranshah. Miranshah's two co-educational schools are believed to be the only ones in North Waziristan. ap
