British Council offers MPhil scholarships
KARACHI, 8 Jan (The News): The Open Society Institute, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the
Cambridge Commonwealth Trust of the United Kingdom have invited applications for
their jointly-funded scholarships instituted for postgraduate studies at the
University of Cambridge for the academic year 2007-2008.
The applicants
are required to age between 23 to 35 year and both nationals and residents in
Pakistan. The scholarships are for one-year taught postgraduate programmes
leading to the award of the MPhil degrees. Scholarships are available in the
fields of Criminology, Development Studies, Economics, Economics and
Development, Education, Historical Studies, History and Philosophy of Science,
International Relations, Management Studies, Philosophy, Political Thought and
Intellectual History, Social Anthropology.
Each scholarship provides one
year's tuition fees at the University of Cambridge, a stipend to cover living
costs (for one person only), and return air travel from the scholar's home
country.
The deadline to send the applications is Jan 31.
