HEC to appoint distinguished Pakistani professors
ISLAMABAD, Jan 12(APP): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched a
programme of placing distinguished Pakistani professors at public universities
and degree awarding institutions in the country.
The HEC has invited
applications from eminent professors and scientists from universities and
research and development (R&D) organisations across Pakistan. The professors
will be required to visit various universities and deliver 10 to 15 lectures
annually and supervise 2 to 3 MPhil/PhD students. They will also conduct at
least one workshop or training course for young faculty members on the modern
aspects of their fields. They will also be expected to write a monograph for
graduate level courses.
The professors will earn a salary of Rs 75,000
of which Rs 25,000 will be research grants and institutional shares.
Appointments will be for an initial period of two years and the last application
submission date is February 5, 2007.
