Lal Masjid starts symbolic classes
Islamabad: The Lal Masjid administration on Monday started one-hour symbolic classes to condemn delay in the reconstruction of Jamia Hifsa
by the government.
About 20 female students attended the classes, which
continued for one hour.
Aamir Saddique of Lal Masjid said that the classes were initiated following an announcement made by Ulema Action
Committee during Shuhda-e-Lal Masjid Conference on Sunday. The conference was
organised to condemn the killing of students during a military operation last
year.
He said the decision to set up permanent tents at the place of the
demolished Jaima Hafsa had been taken back in view of security concerns. "Now
only one-hour classes would be arranged in the open to press the government for
an early reconstruction of the seminary," Saddique said.
He said the
number of students and duration of classes would be increased gradually if the
government delayed reconstruction of the seminary. Daily Times
