15,000 CAP admission forms sold so far

15,000 forms sold for Class XI admissions
Karachi, July 31: During last two days more than 15,000 admission forms have been sold from 50 branches of Bank Al-Habib Limited on account of admissions to XI classes under the Centralized Admission Policy (CAP).

The initial two days of the CAP procedures have witnessed for assembled multitude at different branches of the said bank. The multitude of parents and students gathered to obtain the admission forms, which is being sold on Rs 50, it was learned. On the other hand, in some bank branches the procedure of selling the admission forms remained slow. The last date of selling of placement forms is 8th August 2009, which is tentative it may be extended if required. This year the work of selling and submission of CAP brochure is given to Bank Al-Habib Limited; the admission forms can obtain and submitted at 50 branches of Bank Al Habib Limited those were 42 in last year. All colleges shall act as a guidance centers for the students. Last year total 82,000 placements were made for admissions in government colleges of Karachi in different faculties. Sale of brochures was 92000. A member of CAP Committee, on a condition of anonymity, said that the candidates' numbers would be increased this year as compared to the last year.

He claimed that 99,800 seats were available in different faculties this year that would be lesser because the quantity of successful candidates may increase from 100,000. As per the estimation of the CAP, this year total 99,942 students have passed this year, approximately 5,000 candidates are expected from 'O' level, other than Karachi Board, Technical Board.

It is pertinent to mention here that forms of 'O' Level, Other than Karachi Board, Technical Board, General Science (Computer), Home Economics will submit their forms at only two branches of Bank AI-Habib, including Karimabad and MA Jinnah Road. The Nation

'Class X mark sheets to be released next week'
Karachi: Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) Controller of Examinations Kalim Asghar Kirmani has said that mark sheets of SSC Part II (Class X) Science Group—Annual Examination 2009 would be ready for collection next week.

Kirmani said that all chiefs of recognised secondary schools are requested to send their representative with an authority letter to collect these results.

He said that mark sheets in New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg and Liaquatabad Town would be distributed on August 3, while schools that fall in the jurisdictions of Jamshed, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shah Faisal, Landhi and Korangi town would receive their mark sheets on August 4.

Mark sheets for Malir, Bin Qasim, Gadap, Keamari, SITE, Baldia and Orangi Town are due on August 5, while schools located in Lyari and Saddar Town would get their mark sheets on August 6.

The mark sheets can be collected from the Conference Hall located on the first floor of BSEK Block 8 from 9:30am to 4:00pm on all working days.

SBTE announces short course results
Karachi: Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) has announced the results of the fourth term of short courses (Technical Examinations 2009).

In a press release issued on Thursday by Controller of Examinations Sirajul Islam Bukhari, 119 candidates appeared in various trades while 97 cleared their exams, making the pass percentage 81.51 per cent.

Aman Vali of Gulshan Technical School obtained 274 marks and clinched first division in refrigeration and air conditioning, Umair Shah of the same centre received 269 marks in general electrician, while Naseer Ahmed of Pakistan Polytechnic College was also awarded first division in wireman course.
