RBISE abolishes SSC, HSSC exam fees
Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) Chairman Chaudhary Abdul Hafiz has said
that examination fees for SSC and HSSC examinations have been
completely abolished on the directions of Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz
Sharif. The chairman said that the decision would be implemented
form annual examinations 2010, saying that after the implementation of
the decision, the board would not be able to earn Rs85 million and the
government would provide that amount as a grant. He said that the
decision would facilitate students who were unable to pay their fees. He
said that construction of 6-storey complex has been started on a land
spreading over an area of 42 kanal and it would be completed in three
years. He said that all offices of the board would be shifted to the
new building after its completion.

IMCB F-8/4 SSC results show improvement
Islamabad: Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) F-8/4, has shown
consistent improvement in its Secondary School Certificate (SSC)
results during last three years, says a press release issued here on
Sunday. According
to a report presented to the college Principal Dr Waheed Ud Din, during
2006-07 session 219 students appeared in SSC exams and the overall pass
percentage was 63.93%. Seven students got 'A1' grades while 23 got 'A'
and 43 'B'. During 2007-08 session 176 students appeared in SSC
examination and the pass percentage was 84.09%. Eight students got 'A1'
grades while 28 got 'A' and four got 'B' grades. During 2008-09 session
183 students appeared in SSC examination. The pass percentage remained
93.44% with 34 students getting 'A1' grades while 21 got 'A' and 35 got
'B'. During 2008-09 Umair Asad grabbed first position in the SSC
examination from Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education
(FBISE) by securing 968 marks. The report appreciated the role played by Principal Dr Waheed Ud Din in this improving performance of the college.

Shields for IIU retired employees
Islamabad: The University Staff Welfare Association (USWA) of International Islamic
University (IIU) at a ceremony here Friday, awarded shields to its
retired employees in recognition of their services to the
institution.IIU President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui was the chief guest
on the occasion. The Vice President of the university, Parveen Qadir
Agha, Director Academics, Dr Shugufta Haroon, members of USWA and large
number of staff and employers of the university attended the function.
