Three BIEK men suspended for tampering with results
KARACHI, July 11: Three officials of the Board of Intermediate Education
Karachi (BIEK) were suspended on charges of being involved in the tampering of
the results of last year's HSC Commerce Group results, a senior BIEK official
said.
"I have ordered the suspension of three of our officials for
allegedly tampering with last year's results in the tabulation register, giving
additional marks to two of the candidates," Prof Anwaar Ahmad Zai, Chairman
BIEK, said.
The three officials were suspended after a three-member
inquiry committee, which had been formed after the board received complaints of
tampering in the tabulation register, submitted its preliminary report
confirming the authenticity of the charges.
The committee cited tampering
in the results in its preliminary report saying the marks mentioned in the
tabulation register were more than the actual marks given by the examiners in
the answer sheets of the two candidates.
The additional marks helped a
candidate pass who had failed in the actual result, while it gave a higher grade
to the other.
"Acting upon the committee's report we have corrected the
tabulation register and notified the real results of the two candidates," said
Prof Ahmad Zai.
The suspended officials include an assistant controller
examinations, superintendent of the commerce group and a senior
clerk.
The BIEK chairman said charge sheets were being given to the
suspended officials, who were asked to clarify their position. Similarly, a
report to that effect had been sent to the controlling authority, the provincial
governor.
Meanwhile, officials in the BIEK said the board authorities had
formed a five-member committee comprising senior professors and board officials
to formulate a code of ethics vis-a-vis the duties and obligations of its

Hey 2day there wz a black day for me just bcoz of this kind of corrupted people ... ! id got 74 percentage in my Ist year (pre-med) and i wz really expecting confidentally that ill gain minimunly 78 % in part II ...i wz not thinking on negative side bcoz i wz totally confident for my bestest result ... but when i saw my result ive got decreased percentage wid 73 % ...! how it iz possible if em too confident for secure more ??? isnt corruption temme ??? now wht will i do ? ill try to give scrutny to my results but our board ... ! khair Allah izz Great ... ! pray 4 me"
