DPHS principal resigns over fake degree
LAHORE, July 19: Defence Public High School (DPHS) Principal Ishtiaq
Hussain has resiged on the instruction of the Cantonment Board education
director for having a bogus degree of MSc mathematics. Talking to us on
Wednesday Cantonment Board Education Director Lt Col (r) Suleman Babir said the
allegation of having a fake degree had been proved during an inquiry against
DPHS principal Ishtiaq Hussain.
He said Ishtiaq had been appointed as principal
in 1995 on the base of his BSc degree. He said Ishtaiq had acquired the degree
after his appointment so the board had no knowledge about the forgery. He said
there was no further need to investigate the matter as the allegation had been
proved. He said the school had good reputation and that it was necessary to take
such steps. Meanwhile, a Punjab University (PU) official said that
PU authorities had already issued the letter to the board the Ishtiaq had a fake
degree. He said the PU had mentioned in the letter that there had been no degree
issued with roll number 3491 to Ishtiaq Hussain and the degree had been issued
under the roll number to one Mushtaq Hussain. Daily times
