HEC to fund 54 NWFP edu projects
PESHAWAR, July 20: Higher Education Commission (HEC) would fund 54 education projects in NWFP in the
current fiscal year out of which 34 are on-going whereas 20 new projects would
be initiated in the academic sector.
According to the PSDP document,
Rs.10 million have been earmarked for setting up of Gems Stone
Development Cell in the Department of Mining Engineering University of Peshawar whereas the
estimated cost of the project is Rs.32 million.
A total of Rs.23 million has been
allocated in PSDP 2007-08 for strengthening of Water Resources Management Dept.
NWFP Agriculture University Peshawar whereas the cost estimated stands at Rs. 35
million.
Similarly, Rs. 26 million has been
earmarked for establishment of Student and Faculty Service at
Gomal University D.I. Khan and the total estimated cost of the project is Rs.37.690
million.
Likewise, Rs. 15 million has been
allocated for setting-up of Bio Pharmaceutics Laboratory in Peshawar University
and the estimated cost of the project is Rs.34.527 million.
A total of Rs. 26.450 has been
reserved in the current PSDP for construction of multi-purpose sports gymnasium
in the university of Agriculture Peshawar.
Moreover, HEC would provide Rs.
39.114 million for establishment of Center for Photo-Pharmaceutical and
Nutraceuticals Research in Peshawar University and Rs. 10 million has been
earmarked in PSDP 2007-08.
As many as Rs.30 million has been
earmarked in the current PSDP for establishment of new campus of NWFP University
of Engineering and Technology (UET) at Jalozai and the estimated cost of the
project is 7792.096 million. Rs. 10 million has been allocated
in PSDP 2007-08 for improvement and development of Gomal university
D.I. Khan whereas the estimated cost of the project is Rs.38 million.
Similarly, Rs.15 million is allocated for strengthening and development of academic
programme, Hazara University Mansehra.
HEC would provide Rs. 450 million
for Strengthening of Kohat University of Science and Technology and Rs.15
million has been earmarked in the current PSDP for the project.
For the construction of hostels
for boys and girl students at Kohat University of Science and
Technology Rs.10 million has been allocated whereas the estimated cost of the project
stands at Rs.38 million.
Likewise for strengthening of
Islamia College University of Peshawar Rs. 10 million has been reserved in the
current PSDP whereas the estimated cost of the project is 37.500 million.
A total of Rs.20 million has been
earmarked in the PSDP 2007-08 for strengthening of Peshawar university and the
total estimated cost is Rs.2 billion.
Similarly, Rs.10 million has been
earmarked in the current PSDP for construction of hostel for 200 students at
Malakand University Campus-II Sheringal and setting up of Syed Iftikhar Hussain
Shah central Liberary at Malakand University whereas Rs.20 million has been
reserved for Strengthening of Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering
NWFP Agriculture University Peshawar. App
