KU awards PhD, MPhil degrees
KARACHI, July 17: The registrar of the University of Karachi, Prof Rais
Alvi, on Monday announced that the Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR)
at a meeting held on July 14 with the vice-chancellor, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza
Siddiqui, in the chair awarded seven MPhil and seven PhD degrees in different
disciplines.
The candidates who have been awarded PhD degrees are Syed
Salahuddin (Zoology), Farhat Naz Rehman (Islamic Learning), Zulfiqar Ali
(Philosophy), Anis Fatima (Mass Communication), Nasreen Afzal (General History),
Rashida Parveen and Ejaz Ahmed (Chemistry).
Those awarded MPhil degrees
are Amtyaz (Zoology) MRCC, Mohammad Jamil (Mathematics), Shaheen Perveen, Riffat
Yasmeen and Halima Khalid (Pharmacy), Munaza Madni (Special Education) and
Shabana Saeed (Biochemistry).
Transport facility
The
University of Karachi has decided to allow public transport to convey the
varsity students to Azadi Chowk.
The decision was taken by Students'
Adviser Dr Khalid Iraqi on the directives of the vice-chancellor, Dr Pirzada
Qasim Raza Siddiqui.
However, the students will also be provided with the
shuttle service from the Silver Jubilee and Maskan gates during the
semester.
BDS exams
The KU examinations department
announced the examination schedule of second professional BDS supplementary
examinations 2007.
The paper of pharmacology will be conducted on July
21, pathology on 23rd, oral anatomy on 25th and community dentistry on
28th.
All the papers will be held at the Department of Sociology, KU from
2pm to 4pm.
Results
The KU announced the results of BS
physiotherapy (New Course) second year annual examinations 2007.
As many
as 78 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 69 were declared successful.
The overall percentage remained at 88 per cent. PPI
