Security tightened at PU hostels
LAHORE, July 24: The Punjab University (PU) security guards will body
search everyone who will enter hostel after 10pm, PU Resident Officer Zahid
Karim Khan said on Monday. Khan said the decision was taken in a
meeting held under PU Acting Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Arif Butt's chairmanship.
He said the VC had ordered for strict security measures for the PU hostel.
He
said that all extra gates would be closed except the main gate of the hostel
after 10pm. He said the VC had constituted a committee under the leadership of
PU Hall Council Chairman Prof Azher Ikram to layout a complete security plan for
the campus and hostels. Ikram said that the committee would improve
security and had appealed to students and faculty members to cooperate with
