Five books launched
KARACHI, July 17: We all have to join hands for the revival of the
academic and literary glories of Sindh. This was one of the many observations by
the vice-chancellor of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Prof Mazharul Haq,
while speaking at the launch of five books authored by the Kadri family of
Larkana and Qalama Qabeela belonging to Dargah Kadri, here at the Arts Council
on Monday.
The books that were launched on the occasion were Dewan Kadri
and Bhaley Par Joon Ziaratoon by Fakir Mian Ali Mohammad Kadri, Guldasta Manajat
of Fakir Mian Ghulam Mohammad Gadda, and Majmoa Dard and Lala Rukh of Altaf
Hussain Kadri.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Haq lauded the contribution
of the Kadri family towards the promotion of Sindhi literature and was hopeful
that they would continue the tradition in the future as well.
The
vice-chancellor of the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology
(SSUET), Prof Z. A. Nizami, Prof Iftikhar Hussain Qadri, Dr Afaq Siddiqui,
Accountant-General Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Kadri, Mazhar Jameel, Muslim Shamim,
Naheed Nawaz, Ghulam Nabi Mughal, Abdul Jabbar Asar, Maula Bux Khatian and
others also expressed their views.
Earlier in his welcome address,
Zulfiqar Ali Kadri reaffirmed his commitment to preserve the literary services
of the Kadri family. PPI
