Weeklong media workshop at PU
LAHORE, July 3(Daily Times): A weeklong media workshop began on Monday at the Institute
of Communication Studies (ICS) of the Punjab University with the collaboration
of a German broadcaster DW Radio. PU's acting vice chancellor (VC) Dr Muhammad
Arif Butt said in his inaugural address that radio was an effective means of
communication in the societies with low literacy rate like Pakistan.
"This joint
effort between the DW Radio and the ICS will be a unique experience from media
learning point of view," said Dr Arif. ICS Dirctor Dr Mugheesuddin Sheikh said
the workshop would be a healthy experience and would help the media students
improve their creative and technical skills. Later, Dr Arif Butt offered a
bouquet to Peter Hulian, senior broadcaster and trainer of DW Radio.
