"i am shoked that you are even at GC? i mean, haveing such a closed minded person at GC simply means that you are there on self finance or some other way and dont deserve to be there. any way, considering the current situation, it is for students and institutions own security, and by no means is of any disrespect or disgrace to the students ( yourHighness). Apart from that, all the universities(realy dont care about HEC ranking) with good standing in job market which may be charging alot, but to be honest, when you get a 40 to 50k opening pay on your very first job, you feel satisfied with your and your parents investment. please be patient, and concentrate on your studies to maximum, if you really are concerned and do care about the financial situation of your parents."

Protest against GCU Computer Sciences Dept head: 'Former teachers behind protesting students'
Lahore: Former teachers of the Computer Sciences Department of Government College
University (GCU) are allegedly behind the students' protest against the
department head, department officials said.
Students said the
department head was involved in corruption. They said the head had also been
victimising students.
Around 50 GCU students on Tuesday protested
against Dr Majid at the Lahore Press Club.
Amjad Hussain, a former GCU
teacher, said Majid was dismissed by the Punjab University for his alleged
involvement in corruption of Rs 4.2 million. He said, Akhtar Butt, a friend of
Majid, teaching at the department, was a co-accused in the corruption and an FIR
was registered against him (Butt).
He said, "After his removal from the
University of Engineering and Technology, Majid joined the PU, but was removed.
Later he joined Punjab Institute of Computer Sciences, but was also removed from
there."
A final-semester student said Majid had forced teachers to leave
the department. She said Majid had filed fake cases against their teacher, Tariq
Malik. She said Majid had also forcibly retired two other teachers, Amjad
Hussain and Abdul Sattar. Forty out of 60 final-semester students had left the
department so far, she said.
Ali, another student, said, "We will again
protest against Majid on The Mall."
Majid Naeem said the allegations
against him were baseless. He said the Supreme Court, in his dismissal case, had
given a verdict in his favour. He said he was doing his job in accordance with
the university's rules. "I never victimised students," he added. A GCU official
said that teachers, who had been forcibly retired by the department head, were
instigating students to protest against Dr Majid.
GCU Registrar
Sahibzada Faisal Khurshid said the protesting students were not from GCU. Daily Times
