NTU issue: students Threaten rallies
Faisalabad: Students of different organisations have threatened to stage protest rallies if demands of the National Textile University (NTU) students are not met within 10 days.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, NTU action committee representative Taimoor Akbar, Islami Jamiat Tulaba's Agriculture University of Faisalabad nazim Waqar Hasan, Muslim Students Federation district president Khadim Butt, People's Students Federation representative Mohammad Tariq, National Students Federation president Ali Naqvi and an Imamia Students Organisation's representative said students of the textile university had been protesting for their demands, but the administration was not ready to pay any heed to their issues.

Supporting the stance of NTU students for university accreditation with the Pakistan Engineering Council, they said now students of all organisations would join hands with them till the acceptance of their demands and stage protest demonstrations in their respective institutions.

The students appealed to the textile minister and the Higher Education Commission chairman to visit the university to ascertain the actual situation and gauge the performance of the administration.

They said the government should grab all powers of the institution instead of allowing industrialists to play with the future of hundreds of students.

Students also demanded resignation of the vice-chancellor and withdrawal of the sole dean of the university. Dawn
