Punjab University exams schedule, Pharm-D & MA Urdu results
PU exams as per schedule
Lahore, June 26, 2008: The Punjab University will conduct exams of the teaching departments, which were
scheduled to be held on Thursday (today), in accordance with the already issued
schedule. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the other
departments of the university would observe a holiday as announced by the Punjab
government on account of the by-election. The decision was taken during a
meeting of chairmen/heads of teaching departments with Vice-Chancellor Prof
Mujahid Kamran in the chair. The heads of the departments briefed the VC that
university had a tradition of conducting exams as per schedule and those
students concerned had been informed in this regard.

PU Pharm-D & MA Urdu results
Lahore: The Punjab University Examination Department has declared the result of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D),
Second Professional, Annual Examination 2007 and MA Urdu, Part-II (re-exam of
paper III), held on April 5, 2008, Annual Examination 2007, said a press release
on Wednesday. Detailed results are available at the PU website:

College of Art & Design wins PU painting competition
Lahore: Ayesha Siddiqui has won the PU inter-departmental painting
competition while Farrukh Iqbal has bagged the first position in photography
competition.
Prize distribution ceremony of the painting and photography
competitions was held in the committee room of vice-chancellor's office at New
Campus on Wednesday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran presided over the
ceremony while competitions Convener Prof Dr Najma Najam, member Khalid Khan and
Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan were also present. The vice-chancellor
distributed cheuqes among the winners. Ayesha Siddiqui of PU College of Art
& Design (CAD) got Rs 30,000 cheuqe and commendatory certificate, Samina
Zaheer got Rs 20,000 and Amreen Zafar got Rs 10,000 cheque. The College of Art
and Design bagged all the first three positions in painting competitions. In
photography competition, Farrukh Iqbal of Punjab University College of
Information Technology (PUCIT) bagged first position and got Rs 30,000 cheque,
Bilal Javed of PUCAD stood second and got Rs 20,000 while Hashim Ayaz of
Microbiology & Molecular Genetics Department bagged third place and got Rs
10,000 cheque.
It may be quoted that PU arranged the competitions last
month where Dr Shoukat Mehmood (renowned MAXIM cartoonist) was the judge of the
competitions. Speaking on the occasion, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said the real job
of PU was to hunt the talented and creative students and polish their skills. Dr
Naeem Khan suggested painting the walls of New Campus corridor with beautiful
paintings with the help of Art & Design College's students. Dr Najma Najam
suggested terming the theme 'Students at Work' at PU next year diaries. The News
