Summer vacations from 8th
Islamabad, June 04: Two months long summer vacations in the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE)
schools and colleges will begin on June 8. An official of the FDE said
all federal government schools and model colleges would remain closed till
August 8. He said last year, summer vacations ended in the second week of
August but schools and colleges would open at an earlier time this year due to
preparations for Independence Day celebrations and a tree plantation
campaign. According to him, the monsoon tree plantation drive will get
underway from August 10 in FDE schools and colleges. Early opening of
educational institutions will help students actively take part in the campaign
expected to begin on August 14 or 15. Meanwhile, the government has
decided to fill 280 vacancies of teachers in the federal educational
institutions all over the country. According to spokesperson for Federal
Directorate of Education (FDE), 195 vacant posts of matriculate trained teachers
(BPS-09) would be filled and 75 male and 120 female teachers would be appointed,
while 54 male and 31 female teachers would be appointed on 185 vacant posts of
trained and graduate teachers (BPS-09). The spokesperson said the
interviews of candidates would be held in Islamabad on June 20, in Multan and
Peshawar on June 17 while in Quetta and Karachi on June 12.
