Peshawar/Abbottabad: The boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar
and Abbottabad Monday announced results of the secondary school certificate
(SSC) examination. A total of 46,237 students appeared in the Peshawar
BISE SSC exams of whom 37,101 qualified it with a pass percentage of 80.24. The
result was declared at an award giving ceremony for the position holders, who,
besides commendation certificates, were also awarded a cash prize of Rs15,000,
10,000 and 5,000 for the first, second and third positions,
respectively. Nayab Karim Khan topped the Science Group by obtaining 963
out of 1,100 marks and was awarded Rs15,000. Farhatullah Khan followed her with
960 and Esha Khan Khattak with 957. Naureen Saeed topped the Humanities Group by
securing 861 marks followed by Zuhra Batool with 860 marks. Sidra Khan stood
third. The three were given away the prizes. Speaking on the occasion,
Nasir Ali, controller examination said: "We are proud of the students that this
year result of SSC examination has shown a great improvement compared to the
previous year". Meanwhile, the BISE Abbottabad declared the results of
the SSC examination.A total of 38,852 students appeared in the examination and
the overall percentage remained 79.38. According to a notification issued
by the Controller Examinations, Muhammad Asad (Roll No 80298) of Cadet College
Batrasi, stood first by securing 966 marks, Muhammad Adil (Roll 80299) of the
same college stood second by 963 marks while Raifa Khurshid (Roll No 53940) of
Jinnah Jamia Haripur stood third by 953 marks. The News
Girls take lead against boys in SSC exam
Peshawar: Girls remained on top with 18 top most positions among the top
twenty. Similarly girls grabbed all the three top positions in the humanities
group while in the science group they grabbed the first and third positions.
According to the the controller exam Nasir Ali, the overall result of the
science group remained 87.78 percent while 70.68 percent from the humanities
group pass the exam from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education
Peshawar. A total of 25902 candidates appeared in the science group and 22738
were successful, the pass percentage in the group was 87.78 percent. A total of
20241 candidates appeared in the humanities group and only 14307 passed the
exam. The overall percentage of the humanities group remained 70.68. The
controller of examination Nasir Ali announced the results while chairman of the
board Farhad Jan was also present on this occasion. According to the results
Nayab Kareem of Peshawar Public School topped in overall boys and girls with 963
marks while Farhatullah Khan of Peshawar Model School Boys stood second by
securing 960 marks from Peshawar Model School. Similarly Reesha Khan Khattak of
Presentation convent School Peshawar grabbed third position by securing 957
marks. Noreen Saeed of forward High School Peshawar stood first in Humanities
group by securing 861 marks and Zahra Batool of the same school got second
position in the same group who secured 860 marks. Sidra Jan of University Model
School Peshawar was declared third among the Humanities group by securing 857

MTM protest against UET Admn
Peshawar: Mutahida Tulba Mehaz (MTM), University of
Engineering and Technology (UET) on Monday staged a protest demonstration
against the suspension of summer semester system and closure of hostels. The
students led by MTM leaders Hidayat Mohmand, Umar Farooq, Umar Arif, and Imran
Kundi were holding placards and banners and were chanting slogans in favour of
their demands. The MTM leaders addressing the students said with the suspension
of semester, the students of final year will be affected. They urged the
authorities to reverse their decision and restart the classes. They asked the
university administration to open the hostels because due to the on going
operation in Malakand division, Swat and other areas, the affected students
