KU announces new dates for enrollment session 2012
Karachi, June 15: University of Karachi has announced on Thursday the new date for enrollment session 2012 for BA, BSc and BCom. As per details, students who have not submitted their enrollment forms can submit their forms with late fess of Rs 1,000 at their respective colleges till July 5.

FUUAST teachers condole Mehdi Hassan's death
Karachi: Teachers of the Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology (FUUAST)'s Mass Communication Department Thursday held a meeting to express their condolences over the demise of Shahenshah-e-Ghazal Mehdi Hassan and demanded of the government to put the national flag half-mast during his funeral like India, who done it on the funeral of Ustad Bismillah. They also demanded of the government to issue a memorable coin in the name of Shahenshah-e-Ghazal. Larkana girls outshine boys in SSC-II examination
Larkana: Girls have outshined boys in examination of the Secondary School Certificate Part-II annual examination (General Group) conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Larkana, according to results announced on Thursday.

No boy could manage to clinch A-1 grade while three girls secured A-1.

The combined pass percentage was 74.34 per cent. The BISE Larkana took lead among all educational boards of the province in announcing result of SSC Part-II examination, said a press release.

A total of 2,604 candidates took examination and only 1,936 were declared pass whereas result of 153 candidates was withheld on charges of using unfair means.

Among girls, Saeeda Bano Tunio with 723 marks stood first, Najma Shaikh secured second with 685 marks and Rizwana Kousar clinched third with 677 marks.

Among boys, Sajjad Ali stood first with 654 marks, Raja Khan Burdi secured second with 653 marks and Mahboob Ali Leghari made it to third place with 638 marks. Dawn

935 schools to be set up in Sindh by month's end
Karachi: As many as 935 schools all over the province would be functional by the end of this month under the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) schemes.

This was stated by an official of the Sindh Education Department here on Thursday.

He said that by June 2013, 724 more schools would be established in the province.

These steps by the SEF would benefit some 161,450 students in the province.

Through another project, 560 shelterless schools would be provided with shelter, and 2,600 classrooms would be constructed. As many as 5,000 schools in the province would be provided with basic facilities, the official added. The news
