Serious note taken of cheating in examinations
Karachi, June 1(The News): Sindh Chief Secretary Shakeel Durrani has taken serious note of news of
widespread cheating in the ongoing SSC examinations by various regional boards
throughout the province and directed relevant officials to take effective steps
to stop this menace forthwith.
He issued these directives at a meeting
with the Secretary, Education, Sindh, on Wednesday. He directed the Secretary,
Education, to step up efforts to ensure regular vigilance on the ongoing
examinations in the province besides taking effective steps through the help of
departmental and district governments to ensure that the entire process
beginning from distribution of papers and the conduct of the examinations was
smooth and without any interference and malpractice.
The Chief Secretary
said that all the DCOs should take up this matter actively on a priority basis
to curb cheating. This requires not only random checking but also a proper
action plan, coordination with respective boards regarding vigilance duties, and
placing proper staff to ensure a smooth conduct of examinations, he
observed.
The Chief Secretary said that he did not wish to see a
superficial checking by district administration but wanted supervision that was
well-planned and without any interference into boards' affairs to ensure
examinations without any unfair means.
