LUMS students slam Karachi violence
LAHORE, June 1(Daily Times): Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) students
have resolved to denounce riots that took place in Karachi on May 12 and to
demand the government to investigate the matter, according to a press release on
Thursday. It said that 923 students of LUMS were part of the resolution.
The
students wrote that the government was responsible to keep citizens safe and it
had failed miserably, which was evident when the police refused to act against
the violators. It also read that the student of LUMS condemned the actions of
the president and the prime minister, who were attending a Pakistan Muslim
League rally, where they were reveling in joy at the beat of the drum and
fireworks, while people in Karachi were gunned down.
