KU BA practical: DHA College function
KU announces BA (Pass) Geography practical schedule
Karachi, March 06, 2008: The University of Karachi (KU) on Wednesday announced the practical schedule of
first and second year BA (Pass) Geography, annual examinations 2007.
As
per the programme of the first year, the practical at DA Degree College for
Women will be held from March 10 to March 12, PECHS Government Degree College
for Women from March 13 to March 15, then from March 17 to March 19, from March
24 to March 29, March 31 and April 1 and April 2, SM Government Degree Science
College from April 3 to April 5, Government Degree College for Women, Frere Road
from April 7 to April 9, St Joseph's Degree College for Women from April 7 to
April 9, Sir Syed Government Degree College for Women from April 14 to April 16,
Abdullah Government Degree College for Women from April 17 to April 19, Islamia
Government Arts College for Women from April 21 to April 23, Islamia Government
Arts College for Men from April 24 to April 26 and Jamia Milla Government Degree
College from April 28 to April 30.
For second year, the practical at
Islamia Government Arts College for Women will be held from March 10 to March
12, Islamia Government Arts College for Men from March 24 to March 26 and Jamia
Milla Government Degree College from March 27 to March 29, DA Degree College for
Women on March 31 and April 1 and April 2, PECHS Government Degree College for
Women from April 14 to April 19, then from April 21 to April 30, SM Government
Degree Science College from April 10 to April 12, Government Degree College for
Women, Frere Road from April 10 to April 12, St Joseph's Degree College for
Women from April 3 to April 5, Sir Syed Government Degree College for Women from
April 17 to April 19 and Abdullah Government Degree College for Women from April
13 to April 15.
DHA College annual day function
Karachi: The annual day function of Defence Housing Authority Degree College was held on
campus Wednesday. Administrator, DHA, Brig. Kamran Aziz Qazi was the chief guest
at the occasion.
Addressing the participants, Aziz emphasised the need
for imparting better education and called upon the college administration to
produce confident, capable and forward-looking individuals who could contribute
towards the betterment of society. He asked the college to strive for achieving
the highest standards of excellence in academic and other educational
activities.
The Principal, Capt. (Retd.) Ahmed Zaheer, PN, presented the
annual report of the college and recounted the meritorious achievements of the
students in academics, sports, and other co-curricular activities. He said that
the students at the campus were being provided an academically vibrant and
intellectually stimulating environment to equip them with the basic ingredients
of modern education. The chief guest distributed prizes and certificates among
the students who excelled in various curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The students who got the certificates of distinction included Muhammad
Uneeb Nayyar (Student of the Year - Intermediate), Sahar Sohail (Student of the
Year - Degree), M. Amir Khan (Best Na'at Khwan), Mudassir Khubaif (Best Urdu
Debater) and Umar Amir (Best English Debater). The prize for the best project
was given to M. Muneeb Zaidi. Iqbal House clinched the coveted Inter-House

CMC secures top positions in countrywide test
Karachi: A student, Musadique Ali of Chandka Medical College
Larkana secured 1st position, Mohammad Maqsood of Rawalpindi Medical College
secured 2nd position, and Naveed Ahmed Shaikh of Chandka Medical College and Ms
Rabia Tahir of Nishtar Medical College Multan shared the 3rd position in the
11th Proficiency Evaluation Test 2007 organised by the PMA Science and Health
Council for senior medical students.
This countrywide test was held in 11
different cities and students from 14 medical colleges participated in the test,
PMA announced on Wednesday.
The primary aim of the test was to improve
the current standard of medical education in the country.
The idea was to
provide healthy competition among the students and also to evaluate the standard
of education in different colleges in the country.
Complete result is
displayed at PMA National Headquarters, Sir Aga Khan III Road in
