Intermediate board and HBL sign agreement
KARACHI, March 12(The News): The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has singed an
agreement with Habib Bank limited, under which its authorised branches in all 18
towns would be given permission to collect fees and other charges from students
of higher secondary education.
However, it was yet to be decided that
which branch of the bank in each town would be entitled to collect the fee.
The BIEK signed the agreement with the bank in view of hardships being
faced by students at the time of fee submission, as the bank situated on the
premises of the board remains overburdened during the peak days of fee
submission.
Currently a UBL branch situated on the board's premises is
collecting fees, where long queues of students are often witnessed, causing
problems for students especially girl students.
The board has also
authorised another bank located near the board office to collect fees from
students but long queues of students are also seen outside this bank at the time
of fee submission.
