KMathematicians present research at GCU
LAHORE, March 7(Daily Times): Mathematicians from Romania, Indonesia, France and the US
presented their papers on the second day of the 3rd International Conference on
21st Century Mathematics.
Researchers who presented papers included,
Marie Deza from France, Edy Tri Baskoro from Indonesia, Hong Van Le from the
Czech Republic, Ioan Tomescu from Romania, Pawan K Jain from India, Josip
Pecaric from Croatia, RJ Cripps from the UK, Stephen Glasby from the US, Dimitry
Leites from Germany, Sever Popescu from Romania, CG Gibson from the UK and
Alexander Meskhi from Georgia.

exchanged ideas concerning the promotion of mathematics.
Northumbria
University delegation visits GCU: A delegation from the Northumbria Univeristy
UK visited the Government College University on Tuesday. The delegation, led by
Joanne Purves, called on the varsity's dean of arts, Dr Sohail Ahmed Khan, and
the Career Guidance and Placement Centre in-charge, Fouzia Shaheen.
Representatives of both universities agreed, on the occasion, to develop
collaborative research and academic links in economics, business studies,
psychology, applied sciences, bio-technology, computer sciences and the arts.
Northumbria University's Malaysian regional officer, Zarak Rafiq, said
that the university offered scholarships to Pakistani students. He added that
the varsity was ranked first last year among the UK's modern universities.
High Brow International's Rana Inam Ullah Khan, serving as a
representative for Northumbria, said that the varsity's campus was being
modernised. It would be finished by year's end, he added.
