Student's murder was pre-planned
RAWALPINDI, May 21(Daily Times): The murder of Abdur
Raheem, a student of the Army Public School, was pre-planned and committed by
two of his friends, named Usama and Ammar, police sources said on
Saturday.
According to the first information report (FIR) lodged with the
Westridge Police Station, Usama and Ammar, class 10 students, killed their class
fellow Abdul Raheem, son of Nadeem Ahmed, on Friday near the school. Usama is
the son of a businessman and Ammar's father works with an intelligence agency.
Police sources said the army was also conducting an inquiry into this case
because the incident took place at a shooting range near the school.
They said police had questioned Usama's brother Ans, who had overheard a
telephonic conversation between Usama and Ammar on the eve of the murder, in
which they had prepared a plan.
Westridge Police Station House Officer
(SHO) Basharat Abbasi refused to share the details of the murder with media,
saying that details would be revealed only after completion of the
investigation. He admitted that the alleged killers had not yet been arrested.
Army Public School Principal Brigadier (r) Taj Muhammad said that he had been informed of the murder at 12:30pm on Friday. He said the
alleged killers and the victim had been friends and that he had never received
any major complaints about them.
He said the murder took place outside
the school after practical examinations. He said the school administration had
done its best to educate the students to be responsible citizens, but it was
also the duty of parents to check on their children.
Meanwhile, Abdul
Raheem was buried in the Army Graveyard. Students, members of the school
administration, teachers and family members attended the funeral.
