KU VC gets Hindi-Urdu Sahitya Award
Karachi, May 9(The News): The Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, Prof. Pirzada Qasim has been awarded
the prestigious Hindi-Urdu Sahitya Award. An invitation has also been sent to
him by the Award Committee based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to attend a ceremony
on May 27.
The award has been conferred on Qasim for his service to Urdu
Literature and his stature as one of the finest contemporary poets in the
subcontinent. Renowned Urdu writer Krishn Chander, Urdu poets Gulzar Dehlvi and
Kaifi Azmi, Critic Gopi Chand Narang and Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Mukeshwar, the
Hindi novelist are amongst those who have received this award.
