Special security sought for Inter exam centres
KARACHI, May 29(Daily Times): The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has
sought special security measures for 27 examination centres, declaring 13 of
them 'most sensitive' and the other 14 'sensitive' vicinities. The HSC annual
examinations-2007 get under way on Tuesday (May 29).
The request has been
made in a letter addressed to the principal secretary to the Sindh
governor.
The centres declared 'most sensitive' and required 'very
special security measures' are: Islamia Govt Arts & Commerce College,
Islamia Govt Science College, Liaquat Govt College, Jamia Millia Govt College,
Jamia Millia Govt College of Education, Govt Degree Boys College
(Gulzar-i-Hijri), Govt Boys College and Govt Girls College (Gulistan-i-Jauhar),
Government Degree Science and Commerce College (Landhi/ Korangi), Govt Degree
Boys College (Korangi 2-1/2), KESC Building Zone Korangi, Pakistan Shipowners
Govt College, Aisha Bawany Govt College and PECHS Education Foundation Govt
Science College.
The 14 'sensitive' examination centres identified by the
BIEK for special security measures are: Govt Degree Boys College (7-D/2 North
Karachi), Govt City College (F.C. Area), Govt Degree Science and Commerce
College (Orangi/Banaras), Jinnah College, Sirajuddaula College, National
College, Adamjee Science College, Govt Commerce and Economics College (Opposite
PIDC), Govt Degree Science and Commerce College (Lyari), Islamia College for
Women (Lines Area), Govt College for Women (Korangi-4), Govt College for Women
(Korangi-6), S. M. Govt Arts and Commerce College and Superior Govt Science
College (Shah Faisal).
For the Science and Home Economics groups, a total
of 90 centres (50 for boys and 40 for girls) have been established.
