IJT to hold book fair at Punjab University
LAHORE, May 29(Daily Times): Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) Punjab University (PU) chapter
nazim Muhammad Ayub said on Monday that the student wing would hold a book fair
at the PU, new campus, in the second week of June at all costs and that its
activists would not hesitate to sacrifice their lives or academic careers, if
they were restricted to organise the event.
According to a press statement, the
nazim was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the challenge cup 2007 cricket
tournament at the varsity on Sunday night. On May 21, 2006 the PU administration
expelled 14 IJT activists from the varsity over the book fair controversy. The
IJT activists were accused of obstructing a book fair organised by the PU
administration, terrorising some girl students and extorting money from
stallholders.
