Lal Masjid Madrassa students warned
ISLAMABAD, May 26(Daily Times): Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Friday warned the Lal
Masjid administration that the law would take its course if madrassa students
tried to forcibly close CD and video shops.
"Nobody will be allowed to
take the law into his or her own hands," Sherpao told reporters here at the
Parliament House. He was asked to comment on Lal Masjid mullah Maulana Abdul
Aziz's announcement that madrassa students would take action to close video and
CDs shops, brothels and massage centres in the city if the government did not
meet their demands.
The minister said the Capital Development Authority
(CDA) had been directed to reconstruct mosques in accordance with the agreement
reached between the government and Lal Masjid clerics.
