Govt universities link with Rice University
LAHORE, 24 May(Daily Times): Government universities of
Punjab would be connected with the Rice University in Houston, Texas, US, to
help universities have access to knowledge, said Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool
in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The governor and a delegation, led by
Prof Sidney Burrus of George Brown School of Engineering of Riceat the
governor's house, took this decision at the governor's house.
Department
heads of University of Engineering and Technology, Punjab University and Lahore
College for Women University were at the occasion.
Uzbek minister calls
on governor: Uzbek pharmaceutical industry minister, Yunusov Bahodir Marisovich,
who is also the chairman of Uzbek Board of Investment, called on the governor,
Khalid Maqbool, to discuss trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Marisovich said his government was interested in importing medicines
from Pakistan. The governor said promoting business connections between the two
countries was a positive step towards enhancing their relations.
