35 out of 63 PU depts publish research journals
LAHORE, May 23(Daily Times): Thirty-five out of 63 departments of the Punjab University
publish research journals and 15 journals have been made online, the head of PU
committee on research journals, Dr Shahid S Siddiqui, told a meeting on Tuesday.
He said that the PU administration was focusing on improving the standards of
research journals and research activities.
The committee gave its
recommendations to make research journals according to international standards
and the criteria of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). "Research journals of
five departments including mathematics, history, economics, psychology and
zoology have already attained the HEC standards," he added. He said that all
research journals would be brought at a par with the HEC criteria. "The PU
Mathematics Department's research journal is the only journal being exchanged
with several European universities," he added.
