GCU to host statistics conference
Lahore, Nov 02, 2007: The Statistics Department of Government College University (GCU) is holding a
two-day International Conference on Statistical Sciences from November 7 to 8
with the theme of Survival Data Analysis. Papers from other areas of Statistics
would also be presented at the conference.
According to a press
statement, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Aftab would be chief guest at the
opening ceremony. Punjab Governor Lt Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool will be the chief
guest at the closing ceremony.
In his statement, the VC said the main
objectives of the conference would be to appreciate statistical study designs
particularly in the field of medical sciences and health sciences, to throw
light on practical applications of survival analysis and to encourage mutual
discussion and collaboration of experts from public and private universities
across the country to benefit the scholars doing research at M Phil and PhD
