RISALPUR Nov 10, 2007: The

Air Force Academy, Risalpur on Friday. Governor NWFP Lt Gen (Retd) Ali Muhammad
Jan Aurakzai and Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar was the chief guest at

Cadets, the Chief Guest Lt Gen (Retd) Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai said, "You must
bear in mind that there is no short cut to excellence. Its pursuit can be
consequential only if you display commitment and resolve through your consistent
efforts and tenacity of purpose.
Our country has to brace itself
perpetually to meet the challenges of numerous external threats. Under such
circumstances, the Armed Forces are called upon to respond effectively.
It is also at such moments that
the true mettle of a fighter pilot is put to test. In such a challenging
environment, it will be you and you alone, with your compatriots in sister arms,
who would take charge and defeat the enemy.
As leader, you would be expected
to counter threats with strength of character, integrity and courage. Therefore,
I would like to emphasize that you should also equip yourselves with other
disciplines such as social sciences and management as auxiliary elements in
decision making".
The Chief Guest awarded the
degrees to the graduating cadets in the discipline of Bachelor of
Science.
Aviation Cadet Naveed Shaukat
received the Asghar Hussain trophy for Best Overall Position in Academics and
also awarded the trophy for best in Science Subjects.
