PU students excel at LUMUN-2007
LAHORE, Nov 28, 2007: A four-member team of Punjab University
debaters grabbed 'Diplomacy Award' at a five-day "All Pakistan Model United
Nations Conference LUMUN-2007" concluded at Lahore University of Management
Sciences (LUMS) here on Tuesday. Two delegations from the PU represented Sweden
and Turkey in the conference and those, who won the best delegates award include
Mian Naqib Hamid (Turkey, UNDP), Syed Nishat Kazmi (Sweden, DISEC), Amna Khan
(Sweden, WHO) and Syed Waqar Ahmed (Sweden, HMEMS). The student delegations were
led by Mian Naqib Hamid (Turkey) and Syed Nishat Kazmi (Sweden).
LUMUN is an
annual event biggest Model UN conference in Pakistan. PU Registrar Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Naeem Khan and Director PU Co-Curricular Committee applauded the
performance of both delegations and congratulated them on making an impact on
the conference. He further said that special training sessions for the students
to encourage them for taking part in such co-curricular events. APP
