Private students allowed matric in science
LAHORE, Nov 16, 2007: Following repeated demand by the All Pakistan Private Schools Welfare Association (APPSWA), the Punjab Education Department on Thursday issued a notification allowing students of private schools to appear in matriculation examination with science subjects. According to a statement issued by the APPSWA, the association's delegation, led by its central president Syed Zulqarnain Shah, called on Education secretary Kazi Afaq Hossain at his office. He said the decision taken by the Education department had secured the future of more than 500,000 students studying in private schools across the province. The Education secretary assured the delegation of the government's full support in facilitating private educational institutions. He also presented a copy of the notification to the APPSWA president.
