QAU students stage anti-Musharraf rally
ISLAMABAD, Nov 07, 2007: Around 500 students and
faculty of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest on
the campus to protest the imposition of emergency by President General Pervez
Musharraf.
Wearing black bands onto their arms and marching across the
campus, they demanded immediate restoration of the Constitution and release of
all political prisoners.
The police reached the campus within no time
and threatened the protestors with arrest. However, their bullying cut no ice
with the protesters. Vice Chancellor Qasim Jan asked them to let the protesters
give vent to their anger.
The protesting students and faculty said that
they would continue their protest until restoration of the Constitution. Daily Times
