SPELT's travelling conference opens
KARACHI, Nov 02, 2007: The 23rd annual travelling conference titled "Opening New
Vistas" commences here on Friday under auspices of the Society of Pakistan

According to a statement issued on
Thursday, the two-day conference is being held at the Habib Public School before
travelling with its key speakers to Abbotabad, Multan, Rawalpindi and
Lahore.
The idea is to replicate the event in different cities so that
language teachers around Pakistan could meet and benefit from international and
national ELT experts.
This year's keynote speaker, Jane Hoelker from the
Qatar University (Doha), will present a paper on "multicultural
literature".
The British Council-sponsored Sandie Mourao from Portugal,
Marc Helgeson from Japan, Fatama Atamon from Turkey, Dr Richard Smith and Brian
Shields from the UK and Margaret Early from Canada will all share up to date
teaching strategies.
The conference comprises presentation of over 85
