Sindh education secretary transferred
Karachi, Nov 09, 2007: The government of Sindh has transferred Secretary, Education, Subhago Khan Jatoi, and posted him as Secretary, Agriculture, while Secretary, Auqaf and Ushr (A&U), Choudhry Mohammed Ali, has been posted as Secretary, Education, with immediate effect. Secretary, Agriculture, Mahkoomuddin, has been posted as Secretary A&U. The notification of these moves will be issued later on.
The changes, sources disclosed, were made in accordance with the wishes of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who is closely related to the newly-posted education secretary.
Serious corruption charges have been levelled against the outgoing Secretary, Education, Subhago Khan Jatoi, with special reference to making back-door appointments in the department. This was the major reason behind the reshuffling in the education department.
Furthermore, inside sources disclosed that appointments of HST and JST teachers was a major issue in the department which caused differences to develop with the then full-fledged Education Minister Hamida Khuhro - later resulting in the bifurcation of the ministry.
Within a period of close to eight months, this is the second major change in the department of education, with the first being the curtailing of the powers of the Provincial Education Minister Hamida Khuhro in March. Khuhro was re-designated as Education Minister for Colleges, while the Chief Minister Sindh holds the portfolio of School Education. The News

That we all the Lab: Assistants working in Education Department for the last twenty years in the same scale(B-5 and B-7) and we are deprived from the benefit of selection grade as well as the post of Lab: Assistants has not been upgraded and further there is no chance of promotion in our Cadre i.e: Lab: Assistants, as the post of others cadres have been upgraded like the grade of clerical staff have been upgraded in the recent federal budget 2007-2008 and they will get monetary benefit for the same. In this connection, It is humbly requested to your kind honour that necessary orders, may kindly be issued for the selection grade of Lab: Assistants as well as the upgradation of post.
