Snooker clubs affecting students' education
Rawalpindi, Nov 18, 2007: The rising number of snooker clubs in Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas is not only badly affecting the education of students but is becoming the main cause of scuffles and abusive language among them.
Public and social circles of the city, while expressing their concern over the situation, said that most of the students, instead of focusing on their education, visit snooker clubs in a great number.
The increasing number of snooker clubs is a major concern for parents, as these clubs have become a major threat to the careers of youngsters. Parents say that if the children do not get money, they steal things from their own houses and sell them in the market.
It is no doubt that snooker clubs are a source of income but everyone is aware of their negative impacts.
It is also pertinent to mention that most snooker clubs are located near educational institutions with easy access to students.
The citizens have demanded of the authorities concerned to take notice of this social issue and mitigate their concerns. The News
