EME College holds engineering robotics contest
Rawalpindi, Oct 28: National Engineering Robotics Contest 2007 was organised at
the College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (EME) here Saturday, says
an ISPR press release.
Punjab Governor of Lieutenant General (r) Khalid
Maqbool graced the occasion as chief guest. Sixty teams from different
engineering universities, colleges and institutes from all over the country
participated in the qualifying rounds.
Lieutenant General (r) Khalid
Maqbool said 'Since every machine these days is a blend of several technologies,
Mechatronics Engineering as a new discipline has found widespread acceptance in
the world, including a large number of developing countries". In his speech the
chief guest congratulated all the participating teams, faculty of Mechatronics
Department and the college to make this contest a success.
Later the
chief guest gave away the prizes to the winning teams. Rs50,000 was awarded to
College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering for being the winner of
'National Engineering Robotic Contest 2007'.
Earlier the Commandant of
the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Major General Najeeb Tariq,
welcomed the chief guest Lieutenant General (r) Khalid Maqbool. In his address
commandant presented an overview of college organisation and recent activities
like Compaq, Open House and all Pakistan Software Competition. The News
